Welcome to The Counselling Coach!
As a counsellor living with chronic illness, I have a unique and in-depth understanding of the issues faced by many. I use my experience within education to help others increase their knowledge and understanding of those who may seek support.
I specialise in working with those living with conditions such as ME/CFS. My own unique experience of ME/CFS as well as other chronic conditions, enables me to really understand the struggles faced on a daily basis.

I am working online – either via zoom (video) or telephone to ensure that counselling is accessible for those who are unable to leave their home. As things currently are with Covid-19, all face-to-face sessions will continue to take place online only. As a qualified online counselling practitioner, I find the flexibility of remote working also helps to fit with those who may need to rearrange sessions at late notice. Further flexibility is given for those living with chronic health issues due to the unpredictable nature of these conditions.
For mental health professionals:
For professionals who are looking for support on how to work with those with these conditions, The Counselling Coach can help! Here are some things that I ask counsellors who come to me for guidance:
- Do you know how to make your practice disability friendly?
- Are you aware of some of the invisible / hidden disabilities that people live with?
- Would you like to understand your clients more in order to improve the support that you can provide?
Invisible disabilities can be extremely difficult to accept and understand because they aren’t tangible. We can often overlook things within our practice that may cause a barrier to access, simply because we hadn’t been aware of the impact some day-to-day activities can have upon a person living with an invisible disability.
My range of online resources and short (online) courses can help you to establish a disability friendly practice. I can provide an introduction to some of the more common invisible illnesses, as well as a more in-depth understanding of the issues faced by those living with chronic, invisible illness.
I can support you to make your practice inclusive and disability friendly – get in touch for more information. The Counselling Coach aims to raise awareness and increase understanding to ensure that those hidden illnesses do not become forgotten.
