Welcome to The Counselling Coach!
1-1 Counselling
Counselling for ME/CFS
I provide 1-1 counselling sessions for those living with ME/CFS / Long Covid / Fatigue & Burn-out.
With my own lived experience of ME/CFS for over a decade I get it. I understand the impact it can have upon day-to-day life. I understand the frustration, distress & loneliness that an invisible, debilitating illness can have.
You may not want to see a counsellor for your health condition, but you may live with anxiety or depression, or you may just want to talk to someone without needing to explain what it is like to live with a complex & misunderstood condition.
Not having to explain what it’s like can be so refreshing, and as those who I work with comment, it’s just so nice to be able to talk to someone who knows & understands.
So whatever you may be facing, do get in touch & we can have a chat about what you would like to get out of therapy.
Therapeutic Coaching for ME/CFS
As a counsellor & coach living with chronic illness, I have a unique understanding of the difficulties caused by these conditions.
I specialise in working with those living with conditions such as ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia. My own personal experience of these helps me to really understand the daily struggles.
I am working online – either via zoom (video) or telephone. This is because I want counselling to be accessible for all.
*As things currently are with Covid-19, all face-to-face sessions will continue to take place online only. If you are looking for face-to-face sessions please email to enquire about this.
Flexibility is given for those living with chronic health issues because of the unpredictable nature of these conditions.
How can therapeutic coaching help?
Throughout our work together, the therapeutic thread will run, providing you with space to ‘just be’ if that is what you need.
I can support you to develop your own strategies and coping methods. Learning how to recognise when a ‘crash’ is coming, and helping you to identify a plan to support yourself during these times.
We work by setting achievable goals together. These will vary depending on your personal needs and ability / level of severity of illness.
*Goal setting may feel unmanageable at this time. That’s OK – we can tailor the work to suit you & where you are at this time.
Support is given to help you to adapt your life. Therefore, you may be able to experience some of what you feel you’ve been missing.
I’ll work with you to help you move towards being where you would like to be.
*Due to the fluctuating & diverse impact of ME/CFS, progression may be gradual and not linear. My goal is not to treat or cure ME/CFS (I am not a medical professional), but my approach is to help you manage life alongside chronic illness, to help improve your emotional well-being & support you as you find your way forward.
Therapeutic Coaching For All
Alongside my work with those living with ME/CFS, I also provide coaching for those who are at a point in their life where they feel stuck.
I can help you to identify goals, and support you to work towards making these dreams a reality.
I am currently creating a new website which will be solely for this, but for now, please feel free to make inquiries through this page, or get in touch by emailing: lynsey@counsellingcoach.uk
